Ahhh yes ABH the "poor mans blue hornet" lol.. its all about bragging rights like when your 12 and you had the newest video game on the block.. give it a couple of months and something else will come along and people will be like "red hornet? thats sooooo last season..."

+1. Red hornets are becoming old news. Everyone's waiting to see what the next trendy zoa will be. Utter Chaos was being hyped as the next best thing, but apparently it doesn't look as good in person.

I also think they took pricing a little too far with Utter Chaos. Hornets are expensive but it seems retailers were just trying to see how expensive they could get, and over did it a little. They probably would of had a better chance at being the next trendy zoa if they were priced lower.

To each their own I guess. If someone thinks its a good time to spend $180 - $295 PP(^^) for something that may melt as its only 1 polyp and cant get a colony at that price, to each their own.

I choose not to. I never will. I dont care if you do. To each their own.

I dont believe in wasting money whether its in a hobby or buying food or whatever. I look for a deal. Period. If I dont find it, I dont buy it.

An example is right now on a vendor site Jokers are $25pp. I am buying 10 this weekend for $20 off the SOCAL Forum. True Jokers. Maybe I should sell them to the vendor for $10pp and make 5x my money back...lol

The vendor will sell them to someone who dosent know any better and more power to them. This is AMERICA. He can sell it for whatever he wants, just not to me.

I'll just sit back and shake my head laughing........and say to each his own.

Agreed. Utter Chaos only looks cool under actinics. Just check out the pictures on coralpedia. A perfect example of false advertising and hype, the price is just the icing on the cake.

the first time i saw a red hornet in person i was blown away.they look very nice.many polyps dont look as nice as there pic.but the red looked better.

I never had the pleasure to own it but I'm glad the price came down. I thought they were overrated to begin with. The purple hornets are nicer IMO.

+1 it was the vivid stingers originally being sold as vivid red hornets. Btw UC is actually awesome in person. Coral pedia shows a super hyped photo and the other a drab youngin. I have noticed with the new polyps on my colony they look drab but color up when they reach a larger size. They definitely stand out.
