Good Choice for New Fish?

Hey guys I currently have:

2 True Percs, 1 Flame Hawk, 1 Watchman Gobie, 1 Six Line Wrasse, & 1 Blue Morph.

I am thinking about getting a Fisheri Angel.

They seem to be peacefull. I am worried that he has a vegitarian diet only though. My other angles at shrimp in the past, so I wonder if he would. I am also trying to get more into soft corals, and was unsure if he would mess with them. Overall, I need a low maintenance fish that adds color. It is him or an Anthia...

Let me know what you guys think.

How about a naso tang

In a 65g!? lookout! Here come the tang police.....

Go with an Anthias.

go with the fishers, what a lovely fish. Get an algae clip, and some green and/or purple algae on it twice a week. It will eat a mixed food like rods food as well. But needs veggies for maintained health.

Excellent, well my tank is now tang free. My morpho must have been sleeping up near the powerhead and gotten himself stuck on it. He is now in the big ocean in the sky, which kinda sucks. After getting him healthy and over ich, he then becomes suicidal. Oy.

Well guys, I will take the Angle off of hold then. Thanks. Feel free to post other fishies I should investigate.

if you find you are loosing a lot of fish afer 4-10 weeks, IME you need a better diet/well rounded diet. Feeding just mysis, or the same one or two cubes of frozen food is not suffcient long term. cyclopeeze, rods food, algae, nutramar, dt's will all help everything in your tank, from bacteria to fish thrive. Also feeding enough is important, if you only can feed once a day, it is tough, but try to spread it out an hour or so, feed 50% and 50%.

This may not be the case tho! I just have found it very helpful feeding a varied diet to all fish.

First off not to be a Killjoy ...but tangs dont get stuck to powerheads unless there extemely weak or injured strong swimmers even as juviniles so My guess the ich wasnt done with him or a possible secondary infection occured.. prob would invest in getting water params and biological demands in check before wasting more money on critters but just my opinion

i'm with sean. My morph will swim right up to a modded MJ and pick at the housing. The chromis see him doing it and get blown away doing the same thing.

Well there goes that theory... OY

Food Schedule Update:
A.M. Pellets or Flakes from New Life Spectrum
+ A little Marine Snow
P.M. Mysis Shrimp from Pescine Energetics

I also was adding seaweed by Ocean Nutrition. Which I now have no need for as all of my vegi lovers are gone. I am working hard on getting my params in check, but when I test they are pretty good overall. I am trying to order a better test kit, so that should help. I also, have eliminated one of the filter cartridges from my in tank filters and will be filling the compartment with rock rubble (which I need to buy, so hit me up if you have some), and chaeto. This should really help my filtration and biological needs.

Keep the advise coming. I really appreciate it. See you guys tonight.

Agreed invest in all test kits and good equipment before spending money on livestock. Its like owning a Covette and you cant afford to change your oil and maintenance , so the car blows up and your stuck with the payments.

I think a 65 gal tank is to small for any tangs. They need room to swim. The smallest tank I would put a tang in is 125 gal.

Bad boys ...bad Boys ...whatcha gonna do ?

whatcha gonna do when they come for you ?

i agree with the powerhead not killing your fish, also agree that a varied diet is a must. i have about 12 different kinds of food i use, i even write it on a calender so i dont do the same food twice in a row
