Good fish for LPS

Setting up my new 25gal cadlight. I will be adding Frogspawn, elegance, maybe a hammer and some zoo's. I am new to corals so y question is: what are safe fish for a set up like this. Ive read about the whole clown debate, id love to see some hosting, kinda on the fence about that one.

Any recco's would be great.

tks.

Also any reccomendations on where to order LPS from? Experience?

I wouldn't add an elegance, most don't live long in captivity and if you do find a healthy one it would quickly outgrow that tank. For fish I wouldn't get a clown goby :mad2: mine sat constantly on my candy canes and plate coral, causing them to recede, had to take the whole tank apart to get him out and then my tailspot blenny started spitting sand on my plate! So now my lps tank is fishless...maybe a firefish or something that hovers instead of perching.

An elegane will eventually need a larger tank. If you want one get one of the aussie elegances as they are alot more resistant than indo elegances that are collected in deeper waters and don't take kindly to our lighting since it is so bright. I would also pass on the goby.

In my 15 gal nano I have a few lps (frogspawn, plate, candy cane, torch dendro and suncorals) zoas, shrooms/rics. My yellow clown goby perches on my shrooms and rics rather then my LPS. I also have a gold watchman goby (doesn't bother then plate) neon goby, mandarin and two other gobies. Most of my fish been in the tank for about 6 months.

I would go with firefish, maybe a pistol shrimp/goby combo. Neon gobies, royal gramma, maybe a dotty back.

Eel would knock over all the rocks and corals, then u would have to watchout for the fish tht it would eat. And make sure it doesn't jump out the tank.

Not to mention it would probably be in too small of a tank (25g).

I would recommend getting a nice Fairy Wrasse and a Chalk Bass.

Nattydread,

You aren't from IL are you? I used to see that fairly unique handle on a horse forum I used to frequent there.

Anyway, reef safe fish generally get along fine with LPS. If you look at my signature below you can see what I have along with thriving LPS coral. As far as ordering I would recommend going with www.liveaquaria.com. They have excellent customer service and replace dead coral no questions asked. If you would like some more exotic LPS then you can try http://www.darklordcoral.com/
