My 'view' on the subject is that we are all gathered here to exchange information/knowledge. Some are stubborn and take advice/criticism too personal, some are only around for deals and others are truly passionate about the hobby and care for others and work towards a common goal (having a successful reef aquarium). In the end of the day, we're all humans and nobody is perfect. This site is very important to me as are many of the local hobbyists I consider friends. Drama will always be around, but it's all about how you handle it.

I am about the most positive, cockeyed optimist around...full of love, respect and admiration for everyone...because there is GOOD IN EVERYONE...we just need to see it, embrace it and not let us deter us from why we come to this forum to begin with....WE LOVE THIS HOBBY.

I must say Kat, you and your daughter are very delightful women. Your optimism is refreshing, especially to this cynic. Cheers!

Thank you. A lot. I try! Mandy and I are both prone to depression, believe it or not...so we try to stay around people who are positive and inspiring...and find at least one thing to laugh about everyday.

Well, here we go. Even that needs to be qualified. Ya see, I only agree with you half way. I enjoyed my last meal at the Syracuse location immensely. My last visit to the Rochester local will likely be my last.

Now, back to the beer (IPA please).

Syracuse has THE Dinosaur BBQ. every other location needs an asterisk!

I've been to Dino dozens of times, have been to Dino-catered functions more than a few, had it at the state fair every single year... it's always perfect.

"Motor oil and tabaco spit" Maybe drinking that stuff I can save money because Guinness is big money!

I do not like Guinness either - the one time I tried it I was so sick afterwards - and I am Irish!!! Give me a Bud or Rolling Rock any day of the week and twice on Sundays!

There is a lot of very useful information on these threads. There is also from time to time some very poor undisciplined advice presented as fact which if acted upon can do harm. Sorting the wheat from the chaff can be challenging particularly when folks whose advice is challenged turn discussions into personalized diatribes without facts or when folks present their opinions as facts or guidelines for others without basis.

It's great to share anecdotal information based on observations and opinion. There is much to be learned from it in a hobby that is evolving. Distinguishing opinion, anecdotal observation and information presented as fact is important. It is also important to challenge misinformation directly and clearly , regardless of the reaction. When someone digs in without research and turns a discussion to personalities to protect a position without substance , the discussion often devolves into a self indulgent "he said/she said drama"which offers very little useful information.
