Good LFS

I was just wondering since I got my table saltwater tank up and running, which store in Sacramento would be a good place to shop? I Know there Coral Reef Store, Exotic, Fish Planet, Capital, O st, the one in Rancho, and so on... I dont want to drive around looking, soo if you guys can list some good store in Sac that would be very helpful.

Check this with the other people around here, but for my money lately it has been Coral Reef, Exotic, and Your Reef with good live selections. Exotic has good dry stuff selection. Capital and O St in the middle somewhere, but they're right next to each other which is easy. Fish Planet has good dry selection and their live stuff is beginning to come around.

This all changes from week to week (especially on live stuff) and the only way you're going to know what's available is to check here and tour them occasionally. I like to pop into an odd store here and there if I can piggyback it with something I already have to do...

Oh yeah, KMP has been compiling a list of LFS in greater Sac area that includes hours, location, and contact info.

I depends on what you are looking for. When I want a collector piece I will drive to Roseville and go to Yourreef, not only for the selection, but for the people that work there and the other people I might run into.

Besides that, I live in mid town, so I shop at O st. Peggy has always treated me right and its local. I have never had a problem with their livestock either.

Exotic is up the freeaway from me and it is actually the closest to you. It is very large with many options. Matt in the salt section is a nice guy.

PM me and I will share my feelings about everything else in town.
There are other stores and each one has its own niche and prices.

These are my own opinions, please remember that. There are a lot of knowledgeable hobbyist in Sac. This makes stores compete with prices and products. I frequent most of the stores at least once a month and my favs, I hit almost once a week....

From EG I would hit Exotic off of h99,Ost off of biz 80,Fish Planet exit biz 80 on arden & your Reef off of 80->Reno in that order.

I would skip fish planet. I was there last week alot of potential but just nopt very stocked.

I like Coral Reef Shop, Your Reef, Aqualife, Exotic, O street.

If you are getting fish i definetly like Aqualife the best. Corals i would say Your Reef and Coral Reef shop
