good looking clams ANYWHERE in "this realm!"

I have been looking for a good looking clam all over sacramento and all the way to Hayward. I don't care if it is maxima, crocea, derasa etc. Are they any around that DON'T look like they have been kicked across the floor and into the tank! :) Same goes for a rbta. Can't seem to find one anywhere!

What are you looking for (specie) and did you try the Atlantis website or Clams direct?

BTW I heard once that all the best clams go to Japan where they are just bonkers for them and pay into the $1000s for them.....and so they never make it to the States to begin with, but still for the average consumer there are a plenty.

Kalypso Aquatics

they have about 10 realy nice looking clams in there right now.

You might want to check Aquatic Gallery (Milpitas). Bao recently bought 1000 farm raised croceas from Vietnam. It was ridiculous to see all of those clams in there :)

Good tips on Atlantis (been there: crammed w/stuff!) and clamsdirect. Don't know Kalypso...

ahullsb: I know this is a gimme, cuz you've surely been there, but have you given Coral Reef on Madison Ave. a look? I was there today and they had probably a dozen clams throughout the store. Some were really healthy and vibrantly colored. My wife was agasp. I heard they had a recent clam sale and maybe their stock is subsequently low...

Actually I haven't heard of some of those yet. I have NOT been to Coral Reef so I will give that a shot today. Thank you. It looks more promising now as far as clams. Anyone know of any rbta's around? I'm not strictly limited to that but I have always thought they were some of the best looking anemones!

what size are you looking for? I can take a picture of some and show you, just let me know if you are interested. Keep track of this post all night. I will be posting a pic up soon.
What is your price range for some?

i've been to Aquatic Gallary, that place is more like a show room not a retail store... all their stuff are well over my budget. I went to Exotic (sac) last week when I got my table aquarium i thought i saw some pretty nice clams there.
