Good place to buy live rock?

Well i am in the process of stocking my tank with live rock...but one problem where can i get good live ropck for a decent price that isnt garbage? online and lfs? Where?

Well my guess is you want it like...yesterday lol. I would go pick some nice pcs from your LFS and then maybe chk on BRS for some dry rock or you could even get your LR from Tampa Bay Saltwater.

ABC always has nice rock...I think they just got in another shipment last week. Unless you're buying off of people here on RC, you're going to pay anywhere from $6-9/lb....

For an online source, www.sealifeinc.net. Awesome rock, very lively (macros, sometimes coral, etc.).

I STRONGLY recommend Premium Aquatics. Fantastic customer service. I ordered their nano rocks (a selection of various rocks in nano sizes), and they sent me a good variety of bali, fiji and mandago (sp?) rocks that are very porous and with great coloration. Go to their website and read up on how they cure their live rocks for an insight.

Got my first LR ever from Premium. Great stuff. Still using it. BUT, when you consider price and shipping, I recommend buying local. PLENTY available at LFS's here and in Roch. Even if you're looking for something specific, LFS can help you.

Otherwise, keep an eye out on the local forums. People always selling and trading stuff.

make a 'rock run'.

Hand select your rock. Go to ABC in 'scuse. Visit the shops in Rochester. If you really want to get crazy make the drive to Buffalo. You're better off getting small amounts of premium rock than purchasing lots of cheap stuff.

Liverock is the backbone of your reef aquarium.

yep what Gary said,do not buy rock unseen,a couple not seen unwanted critters can make your life misrable..look at the rock very close before buying..
