Ill be going there this weekend for memorial day and would like to know of some places to snorkel close to shore (might b possibly going with my lil sister). preferably something with biodiversity, not just open sand and water. like a shallow reef or even grass flat, looking for someplace where we can find starfish and crabs and such for her to see in thier natural element beause she sees them so often in my tank. :)

Right now since im still new to snorkling, i only know of wiggins pass. the local wildlife ranger there can tell you the exact location some small reefs. it a bit of a swim. and maybe a drive. lol.
there are hermits, yellow tail, some colorfull fish, and plenty of
sand dollars. the reef starts out about 20feet before the swim bouyes (spell check) :p

I have also heard of captiva and sanibel.
I dont know if those are snorkling spots or diving spots.
guess try some internet search.

hope that helps
