good reef stores in area

Hi,

I am presently in the Doylestown/Quakerstown PA area working on a project through the end of July and live in upstate NY (Syracuse), so not familiar with local salt/reef aquarium shops. I was hoping some of your club members might be able to tell me about some decent stores in this area (Philly, south Jersey, out your way, etc..) that would be worth visiting and help kill some time while I am here. Two months is a long time, so driving to visit some good stores will be worth it.

Thanks,
Bill

That Fish Place would probably interest you. Can't say much for the livestock, health wise, but they have just about everything else that might interest you. And it's big!!!

also in the Baltimore area if your up for an extra 30-45 mins south would be House of Tropicals in Glen Burnie MD.
+1 for Exotic Aquatics...they usually are pricey though.

Didn't one of the Glen Burnie stores recently shut its doors? It wasn't Sea Save...

You can come out to That Fish Place for our DockDog event in July during the store's Summer Splash sale! Wit WOO! So EXCITED!

No, house of tropicals is open (or so it appears by their website, www.houseoftropicals.NET. There was a store called Scales Tropical Fish Warehouse in the Metro DC area that just closed. I found that out when I pulled in their parking lot last Friday.

Thanks everybody for providing me with some stores to visit while I am down in the Doylestown area. I visited Something Fishy and That Fish Place today. Very impressed with Something Fishy - their livestock, especially the corals looked great with a fantastic selection and their prices seemed pretty reasonable. That Fish Place was definitely the "Home Depot" of pet stores, even picked up a couple of presents for my two labs for when I go home. Their drygoods prices were better than Something Fishy's, which can be expected due to the volume they buy and sell, but their livestock was not nearly as impressive. The Syracuse NY area is pretty much devoid of anything that comes close to either of these locations. For the most part, everything (livestock, liverock & some high-end drygoods) have to be ordered online up there. It would be nice to have a place like one of these to physically go to to buy liverock and livestock that you can actually see when purchasing. All in all, it was a great way to kill a Sunday.
Thanks Again.
