Good small Macro algae nibbler/herbivore for a 20 Gallon

Depending on macro, go with an invert. There are very few herbivores that will fit int hat size tank. Furthermore, they might not even eat the algae at all.

Thanks, I can add plenty of inverts, I have a few snails, but they are more specific to noxious micro algae. Blennies are potentially a good option though.
I was hoping perhaps for a micro tang:)

That said, I can always evaluate and bring the fish back if not, but.....lots of trouble.

The refugium has a variety of macro algae, I want to make sure it does not get lose, while I am an expert at manual removal and trimming, I greatly to prefer herbivores, better them, than me.

I've got a good hold on micro algae herbivores that do not eat macros, but, I would like to move more into smaller tanks than can handle other management issues/goals with macro algae.

I have less background on those critters.

Turbo snails and hermits will eat many kinds of macro algae if it has been pruned down to the base (in other words, they'll finish it off for you). I imagine doing some picking every once and a while in a 20 wouldn't be much of an issue.
