Good tang for SPS tank??

Actually SA stands for South Africa. The Gem tang is endemic to a very small distribution, and even then, they are not abundant in the area. I guess that’s why the heavy price over there.
Don’t think I’d be aloud to ship to the states?

Hay you’d be most welcome over here. Stay in Durban by the way.
Anthony Calfo and Steven Pro might be coming here next year for a workshop. I’ve promised to do my best to catch a Gem tang for both of them.

Next year? You have the dates of the event? It would make my day if you offer to catch one for me too. :D

He has been a perfect citizen.
I have as well heard that PBT tend to be hit or miss. I had a buddy who kept one for about a year in his 125 and it was fine! Then one day he turned and started eating everything. Polyps that is. I guess it really is all Hit or Miss?

:)

Ive got a kole, I love him, he grazes all of the time. Mine pretty much requires no additional feeding, just a little nori.

Sorry aws, been off line for a while. I really wouldn’t mind catching one for you too (4 free) if you are coming over. The only thing is I cannot guarantee that I will be able to get them. These are quite rare fish. The season for finding them is from around February to May, however they have been known to not make an appearance at all and some times for more than just one season. This last season was a very good one. Here is a link to SA’s largest forum where we, along with Calfo and Pro are trying to organize the event. Cheers (p.s. my user name on the forum is, millepora)
