You picked up that D60 and shined.

Thank you :) How did you know I got a D60? Yup, I got a refurbished Nikon D60, came with an 18 - 55 mm lens. I got one of those closeup lens kits, and it's not the greatest for macro shots, but beats paying $900 for the lens I want. And I could probably clean my glass sometime...

He is either a mind reader OR he looked at the EXIF info.

And a comedian too!

Nice. #1 and #5 are my favs. #2 looks a too something (contrasty? saturated?) to me.

+1 for glass cleaning. And I'd suggest more time de-icing (removing marine snow). I know it's tedious but it really helps with the feel of the image.

I took most of these pics about 2 minutes after the camera came out of the box, and I was too excited to stop and clean the glass :) I'll get some cleaner shots sometime. Do you just use a polishing pad in the filter to get the cloudiness out? I have Fluval 405 and sometimes use those.

My flasher wrasse was flashing in #2. he doesn't look like that all the time, but I have a female Cirrhilabrus in there with him, and he flashes for her. He actually looks better in real life than in the photo, for some reason the camera just can't capture the blue. He looks like he has electricity running through him when he flashes, it is that bright!

Titusvilsurfer, do you look at the Exif data in Photoshop, or do you have another program for that? I'm looking for some way to do it without installing another program so I can look at it on my laptop.

Thanks!

By removing the marine snow, I mean cleaning up the image during post processing using a clone brush or healing brush. Of course, mechanically removing the floating debris before image capture would cut down on the amount of touch up needed. I use a filter sock on the input to my sump to trap small debris. Sounds like a polishing pad in your filter would accomplish the same thing.

That's a neat behavior of your flasher wrasse. Thanks for letting me know it does that.

You can view the EXIF info in Photoshop under the File / File Info menu item.

Outside of Photoshop, I find this free windows EXIF info viewer helpful:

Sorry TS for answering that for you. I was posting anyway...
