OK, I am done boring you with my boredom :D

Thanks. I am using a Nikon D40x and a 105 macro vr lens. I shot these in aperature mode. I have had it for about a month now and everytime I learn a little more. The garage tank is so much easier to shoot because it is only lit by a 150 14k; whereas my main tank is lit by 250 20K helios.

Your photography skills are definitely improving, the screen crops of the zoos are awesome.

What f stop were most of the pics being taken?

Thanks buddy. I shot these at 20 so I could get "more" out of them.

Nice one! :)

Do you shoot RAW or JPG?

I shot these in Jpeg. I don't really want to do the conversion. I am still learning how to use the camera. Once I get that down, I will start working on my processing.

I got my macro but have not tested it on corals yet. Shooting RAW can be labor intensive due to PP. My first SLR only shot in RAW and I had to PP every shot. I sold that camera within a year.

Your Nikon lens seems really sharp. What ISO setting were you using and are these 100% crop?

Hi Mark,

Looking good!

Don't worry about the conversion from raw to jpeg. There are some cool things you can tweak in the raw format (if you haven't already tried it).

I bought my first digital camera about 4 years ago, and like you, I kept it in the jpeg mode for the first couple of weeks/month. Then I got curious and did some shots in raw mode. Now I only rarely use jpeg. I suspect you will eventually do the same.

Just curious, are you using photoshop?
