got my IN100 in, few questions

I just have a few questions after having this thing running for about a week now.

1. After assembly I had an extra elbow pipe and another random short piece?

2. After 1 week the water level is still very low and wont rise, the entire area however that bubbles are meant to rise through is coated brown (time to clean already)

I am trying to get that water up to see the true skimmate production potential, but in honesty the thing is so quiet compared to the 4 yr old octopus i had running in there I haven't even cared the last week. Its sitting in 8" of water constantly, even if my return pump runs dry the skimmer will still sit in 8 in of water.

have you adjusted the wedgepipe ? the longer tube that goes into the "T" you should be able to turn that and create some back pressure in the skimmer body causing the water to rise. The extra elbow and short piece is to come out of the T if need be. I hardly ever use them but some do.

Crank on the wedge pipe and start closing it up, that will raise the water level for you. In regards to the extra elbow and straight pipe, I don't recommend running them.

not gonna believe this but when i was adjusting the wedgepipe, i was really just turning the top cap on it. I do believe we have the little guy perfectly dialed in, already got a nice big cup of foam...probably the first time in 2 years ive seen that
