Got some new stuff, and other random pictures

So last weekend I went to a couple LFS's and picked up some new things for the tanks. And as a result took a bunch of pictures, and some new pictures of some existing livestock.

First, and what was a sort of an impulse purchase are 4 speckled damsels (Pomacentrus bankanensis). I knew I wanted to get some smaller fish for my 75, but had no idea what, and then ran into these.

Here they are acclimating in a 5 gallon bucket.

3 of them hiding together (( the 4th was hiding in another spot ))

Two brave ones out and about (( that is one of my Haddonis in the background ))

A couple of solo shots. I really like the color of these guys, and were eating within a couple of hours of being in the tank. They pretty much stay on the right half of the tank --- my Clarkii pair lives in the left side. Though the male Clarkii has come over to the right side to check them out, and to make sure they aren't messing with the other Haddoni.

Here is all for together --- the the actinics were on, and the picture was taken with a flash.

I really like those damsels , before i read i thought they were some kindof anthias. somtimes i would like to have a tank just with damsels. nice pick up.

For my other tank (( 33 cube )) I picked up a pygmy angel and some new zoas.

Hiding in a little cave,

Just checking out the tank, and thankfully, leaving the zoas alone.

Thanks.

Yea, they really reminded me of anthias, but are a lot cheaper, and a lot easier to keep. It has been a long time since I have kept any damsels, mainly because they are mean, but these ones aren't too bad. They can hold their own, but aren't causing any issues.

A while back I was able to pair up my Potter's angles,

But, I had my main pump fail while I was in the hospital (( unexpectedly, so had a non reefer watching my tank )), and I lost the both of them.

So, I have been on the look out for another pair. Turned out to be too hard to find a already existing pair, so when I found a male Potter's I jumped on it, got him about a month ago.

Then when I was at one of my LFS's last weekend I started talking to one of the workers, and he said that he could get a small (( 1 inch )) one. This is what I got.

(( btw, the PVC is 1 inch ))

And wondering when I will stop taking pictures,

I put a rock in the tank from my 75, I know that I might have to ditch it, but wanted something in there for her to pick at. Anyways, noticed a little brittle star came off the rock,

Back to the tank with the new damsels, it seemed that a couple of my existing fish didn't care for all the attention that the new guys were getting, and wanted to get their picture taken.

Wow Todd !

I'm LOVING those Damsels! If they arne't too aggressive, I would love to add them to my tank. I've never seen them up here though...

And those zoas are fantastic ! I love 'em !

Thanks miss Poukie. :)

So far they aren't too aggressive at all. That could change, but I haven't noticed anything yet. I will see what happens done the road. The LFS that I was at said that they just started getting them in and that they aren't in the store very long.

Yea, I am really liking those new zoas, and oddly enough when I went out that day I was just going to buy some food. :)

Well, I want full tank shots (!) showing those wonderful carpet anemones. And that Blue Face is exquisite.

i've seen those damsels from time to time. They aren't too nasty. Actually nice little guys.

Will take some shortly. But, they might have to be left half, and then right half. The lights really wash out the corals in pictures from further back.

Thanks, really love that blue face. And now that I have solved a stray issue problem it is out a lot more. Though I wonder if the new damsels played a role in that too, but I would have thought that alone would have taken longer.

those are not speckled damsels they are "talbot's damsels"

I wondered about that, but google images seemed to match. But, that isn't saying a whole lot. :)

Just did another google imagine search and you are correct. The first couple of imagines for (Pomacentrus bankanensis) must be wrong.

Yea, so far they are being very nice, but very active which is good.

This is an older thread, but thought I would update it since I bought a few things over the weekend. Had planned on just picking up some food, but....

Was introduced on Saturday -- left it in a little breeder box for a couple of hours, just so everyone could get used to it. Then I opened the lid, but left the box in the tank, once in a while it would go back into the box if it was getting chased too much. I ended up pulling the box out on Sunday, and there was only some minor chasing. Within an hour of being out of the box it was eating like a pig, and went after the food with gusto.

My little Potter was a bit upset about the new addition, but nothing too major. In fact, my mated pair of pink skunk clowns did more chasing.

And for my other tank, I picked up a pair of Saddleback clowns, to replace my mated Clarkii pair that I sold a while back. These were also eating very well in the tank, and were actually eating within minutes of being introduced. That was also about the amount of time it took them to be hosted by my Haddoni.
