I would have attached them to the other post, but I wanted to make sure everyone got a chance to see them.

Johnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s opening went well; here are a few pictures from the event. Enjoy!

John, let me know if you want the full quality copies of the shots, Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ll save them for a little while.

I just noticed, the last picture of the first post, is that lady posing or what? Must be a Model... :) either way she really likes the camera :)

:D Thanks for the pics, Alex.

Congratulations to John and Stacy! Looks like the Grand Opening was a lot of fun. The store looks wonderful, too.

Wish I coulda been there. These pics are the next best thing:p

Nice Store..
I think he should do something about those MH "pendants". They look a little ghetto :p

ok, back on task....the mH's didn't bother me very much although, maybe having a little warmer light would make it easier to see how the corals would look at home...

congrats john and stacy! wish i coulda been there :( but the weather and traffic coming back from redding today wore me out...gonna get out there tomorrow instead. congrats again!!

FYI- The Lady in the picture is John's wife's sister. And not to burst your guy's bubble but.. shes married.

no comment.....:hmm2:

Back on topic.Great pictures, glad to see the MARS support in there ;) Congratulations again John, you deserve it :)

My only thought was that he is going to run out of room REAL fast.....better throw the FW on the sidewalk and make another bank of the coral display tanks!!!!

Are the big ones in the center displays, they are really deep and on tall stands to be easily accessible, I couldn't imagine getting a stool, fishing something out everytime someone wanted something?

I was very impress with Your Reef Aquarium. Few things I wanted to point out:

1. With a very few exceptions - all coral prices were listed. None of the "I wonder how much I can get this sucker to pay."

2. Coral prices were great - starting at $15 and up. Very decent selection of low priced coral for those who are starting out. Some very nice high end pieces as well.

3. All the salifert test kits were much cheaper than any LFS. Some of the test kits were also cheaper than Marine Depot!!! Oh - they also had flatworm exit.

4. Salt price were very cheap. A 50 gallon bag of IO was only $9.99. I don't know if John plans on carrying other brands.

5. John and I briefly talked about him selling some "bulk" items such as MgCl (MagFlake) and CaCL (DowFlake). That way for us experienced hobbyists, we can purchased reasonable amount at a good price. Maybe we can persuade him to do a bulk buy on carbon as well. :D

6. Best of all - John is an experienced hobbyist who isn't out to just take your money. He's wants educate the general public about reef keeping! In addition, he's a very strong supporter of MARS.

Looks like we have a top notch LFS in the Sacramento area!
