Great Barrier Reef, Australia - My Dive Pics

Amazing to say the least, look forward to the shark vid. For a first timer you sure did a damn great job! keep em coming, I have a few new screen saver pics :)

thanks doods!! I have a pile more shots to post.....and then the vids....I just don't have the time to spare these days.....bah! :(

Awesome thread! These pictures are amazing! I need to learn how to take pictures like this underwater. Do you turn off the auto flash and use your flash for everything?

Can't wait for the shark video!

So, nice wish I could dive and live near a reef. I would just get diving equipment and go diving as much as possible. The ocean would be my aquarium

Great pictures. TFS.

I don't see any mushroom on your pic. Do you think if it's because the hard corals overtake the place?

Just wonder which one will win this battle

excellent photography!

when you go professional and start selling your photographs to magazines, and then get picked up by nat geo, and they fly you plus one to all the sickest hardest to reach most untouched reefs in the world, remember me.

you can call me plus one!

Wow Zach you did A+++++ job there with those pictures. Definitely one of the best ones in a long time. It seems like you captured the entire barrier reef in your camera.......well a small part of it I guess.

thanks for the kind words, guys :)

thanks man! i did my best to get as much shots in as I could....PLUS i was trying my best to take in as much as I could, being my first time diving and on the GBR and all!....I remember my last dive was crazy.....I barely had any air left because I was snapping so many pics, so I snorkeled back to the boat!

Forgot to ask, how much did it cost you to do all this.

the whole learn to dive package (includes all the dives, the liveaboard, the food, etc) was about $700 (Canadian $$).....the flight to Cairns was included in my main flight to Oz (I got the 'Aussie Air Pass' dealio)

gonna *try* and get the rest of the shots up by the end of the week...here's some more in the meantime:
