Great Barrier Reef, Australia - My Dive Pics

Man fantastic photos! The green tipped maxima was awesome. That rainbow Magnificent anemone really caught my eye...never knew that shade existed.

Great pics, I'm not really a diver but Just want to know how deep were you on most of the pics on page 2 and when your down deep does it hurt your ears? Thinking about getting surtified

lol!...nope, no flash used....I just auto white-balanced and started snapping pics. The reason why the pics are so vibrant, was due to my camera...it does a surprisingly GREAT job on colours.....also, I did a wack of post-processing in Photoshop to get rid of all the blue "haze" associated with the underwater pics....you should see what the original pics look like! hahah

the one time I did use flash it was horrible...all you could see were the suspended particles highlighted like snow in the image.

Wow...very impressive. I need to learn how to do that. Do you mind telling me what you did in photoshop for post processing? Just wondering if I could do the same thing in my photos and improve the look. Probably won't work since I only used a small point and shoot and didn't auto white balance when I went underwater. But it's worth a shot!

WOW...i felt like i just went diving with you guys....stunning pics..thank you so much for sharing...its great to have a perspective of how these corals grow and look in the wild..

What else can I say but Thanks a million, Absolutely Amazing what you have captured on your vacation and shared with many who will never be able to do this themselves. Wow!!!

I should give credit to this thread, it's part of the reason why I worked so hard to get up to Cairns and dive the GBR when I was in Australia last month on business. I was able to get in 5 days / 4 nights out on the reef. Had beautiful weather, good dives, and all in all couldn't have had much better time.

Instead of taking this thread off topic, I'll start another thread with pictures of the trip.

Thats it, im going to oz, even if i cant get dive certified Ill jump in and drown ;) Awesome pics man. I never noticed the whole scuba forum before and seeing those corals in the wild is fantastic.
