Great Barrier Reef dying

The GBR has died out several times through history -- We're throwing curve balls at it faster than in the entirety of the earths history, but if it can come back from the dead 3-4 times it may adapt.

Also, scientists are currently trying to selectively breed / sequence DNA of corals which are more tolerant of heat. Apparently with some success already to boot.

Moar GMO's in our reefs!

I have no doubt that gbr will at some point come back. The only thimg is, it will come back after humans are gone from this planet (or have destroyed ourselves back into Stone Age). Overall, the planet is 6 billion years old and the human pestilence is not 10,000 years into sucking the life out of this blue/green rock. Give it a few thousand (or million years) and the planet will make a comeback, it always has.

Very sad news. However, I can see the GBR making a comeback. If people with tank crashes can make a comeback....I'm sure that nature will definitely make a terrific comeback. The only question here is, will we be around to witness this miracle of life? Fingers crossed that we are around to bare witness. Just my two....
