Hey Ron, it doesn't look like you are from the area either. But I am a local, as local as they come and it should not matter if I am from out of town or not. My treatment should not be dependant upon my locality or where I live. In fact, most LFS in Pittsburgh know who I am and have dealt with me for many years without any problems. I have shopped at Elmers for nearly 20 years now and I know the owner as well. I even get to visit the store on occasion after hours because of my long trip to Pittsburgh. They understand that if I make it near closing time, I am still potentially a money spender. They know because if they had that solenoid I would have bought it without any problems!
You have treated me horrible and you didn't know it but I belong to another club in addition to PMAS that has more members and buying power.
I will make sure to inform them of my treatment and I am sure they will steer clear of your store!

no hater clubs - that was a pretty nice statement directed at me.. but for what?
I know it didn't pertain to the topic, but i like to think of my post as "constructive criticism". I wasn't bashing UTS. They do have nice stuff and carry alot of nice things. I was just voiceing my opinon as to why I do not believe they will be in business for years and continue to expand their livestock / inventory. I couldn't even begin to imagine how much money was spent setting up that store. Sure, you're not going to get "online" prices when going to a lfs, but some of the stuff doesn't need to be marked up 150% + of what it costs online. A variety of more livestock would be nice as well. As far as my eyes having ich - i do know what ich is, and i know some of the tangs had/have it, and i'm pretty sure when you see a fish swimming on its side when it looks like the flesh of the one side is falling off - that would qualify as a sick fish in my mind. Try and go buy a fish out of the big tank in the back by the live rock tubs. Either you must be special to get fish out of there or else Jason was just being lazy that day to make a sale because there was a fish in there I wanted.

I figured you were talking about "no haters club" and under the sea, but i wasn't sure because in the post above where he attacked me, it sonuded like 3rd person as if he didn't own/work for a lfs. Of course then again, nothing would suprise me.
If that is the case, I believe that just put me over the edge enough to never return there again. They must not need my business bad enough. I was a decent spender when i'd make the trip down, but I can always be a decent spender online.
I believe its cheaper to order online anyways. I can get certain brands of salt online for 10.00 cheaper (including shipping) than I can at the lfs.

rick you said that you are friends with some lfs around here?then why did you post this about them?is that how you treat you friends?it's no news,everybody know who i am.your childish threat makes me laugh.i can care less about you.i really don't care what other club you belong to,it does not mean anything to me.theres no regret on how you were treated.not all money is good money.maybe after the other stores read this,they might not show you too much favortism anymore.all this started because the lfs around here were being bashed and i guess i am the only one with enough guts to speak up.some might not like it and some cheers me on.but this thread is getting very lame.from now on i will not speak unless i have something nice,cool and helpfull to say,you should do the same.

Please, like I said, I can care less about your opinion. I'm sorry that's how you feel. Most of our loyal customers are not from a club and they value our input and our services and products. We do have and use a quarantine, but as in anything that involves life, there will always be death.
Financial trouble is obviously something you go through. I do have a janitor job open for you, maybe you can teach me how to mop the floor.
Anyway, I'm done with you, you will always have your opinion and I have mine. Talking back and forth seems childish and we should drop the subject. Just let me know the next time you're in town and we can meet and work out our differences.
