Green BA being an idiot

Ok so i purchased a Green bubble and a clownfish pair 3-4 weeks ago.
Within the first 48 hours it moved up behind my overflow. Not that big of a deal, it stayed far enough away from the weir and i could get to it to feed a piece of scallop on occasion.
In the last week however, it did not come out at all. I woke up this morning and started dismantling the overflow so i could get it out.
It has definitely lost a decent amount of color but it still has some green to it.

The tentacles still inflate and the mouth is closed, and doesn't smell bad. So i think it is still healthy (relatively).

So now come the questions.
1. why would it put itself in a place where it would harm itself by not being able to get light?

2. now that i have it back out in the light (assuming it doesn't go hide again) should i reduce lighting and do some form of acclimation?

3. knowing that I've stressed it enough for today, but given the fact that it hasn't eaten in over 2 weeks and has little to no light for the same amount of time, should i feed it if it will accept it?

My gbta runs like crazy. Sometimes I wonder if its not happy, but then I hear stories where some just do this. Mine also runs the back wall and rockwork, but has not lost color. It always comes out in the light to get more. I dont think the anemone is purposefully trying to hurt itself, rather its trying to find the right place in your tank. How long has it been set up? What kind of lighting do you have? Perhaps its not strong enough and that is why it is moving. Not sure on feeding, I have heard mixed thoughts on whether they need to eat, or if light is enough.

7-8 months. I'm using 2 kessil a 360's 13" above the tank at 80%
Params stable with 1g/day awc and minor dosing.
DKH 8.1-8.4
CA 420-460
MG - 1325-1380
No3 2.5
Po4 .01

As of this moment it's on the bottom of the tank and open, but not fully. It's been inflating and deflating all day, but i suspect that's because it was on the move again. (traveled about a foot so far) The clowns found it again, and it seems to have stopped, and at least for the moment, inflated.
Obviously I want to do what i can to ensure it's best chance for survival without inflicting any UN-needed stresses.

If i had to describe colors, the foot is a nice beige. the top is a grey-ish green. Way more grey than it was when i brought it home.

I can understand wandering to find a spot, but this one fled behind the overflow and stayed there. It really didn't appear to be searching for an ideal spot.
