Green BTA not so green or bubbly

Ever since i got this anemone its looked tan colored (just small...very small green spots and greenish tentacles). Ive seen many pics of other people's BTAs and all of them are much fuller in terms of tentacle quantity. In all of those pics i was not able to easily distinguish the mouth but in mine i can. There is not even one tentacle that forms that bubble apperance thats characteristic of most BTAs (all of them are really fat but cilinderlike). Another observation i made is that its tentacles are not sticky at all, unlike my condy which is super sticky. The BTA readily feeds, anything that I or my clown puts near it's mouth it quickly gobbles it up by closing up until the mouth reaches the food. I feed it about two times a week a full squid cube. It is very reactive to light (closes at night and open when lights go on). It has never moved from where I first put it so i suppose it is happy at that location. IMO it looks healthy since it is strongly attached and it's foot looks very healthy. It has been in my tank for about three weeks now and it has not changed a bit. Is there any way to make it go neon green like many anemones I have seen?

Some are not green like others....I have one that is not that green and out of all my Rbta/Gbta's there is only one that has actual "bubbly" tentacles all the rest are stringy.

post a pic and we can help you determine if its healthy or not ... also, someone sooner or later's gonna ask you about your tank parameters :)

Lighting? tank size? how long has it been set up for?

Ok sorry. My parameters are the following: Alk 120, hardness 300, pH 8.0, nitrite/ nitrate both 0, ammonia 0, temp 77C,salinity 1.023...lots of GHA though lol. So yeah my tank was set up around december so it has its good 4 months now. I do 10% water change every week and if i miss it for a month i do a 25% change. I have a skimmer, UV, minireef with bioballs, chiller, 260 watt compact florescent lights with actinic and 10000K full spectrum.

thats it

Your anemone looks healthy. You ask about neon green anemones. Usually that is the sign a GBTA is bleached.

Yup, your anemone looks great! I wouldn't worry, especially since it seems to be eating well, and the mouth is closed :)

I ment how rude to everyone else that hasn't welcomed you ;)

and yes, it looks GREAT

BTA's don't always have bubbles. Mine DOES do the bubbles, but only about 50% of the time, and its extremely bleached-the look that you might be thinking of... unless your thinking of the very GREEN ones, but in reality those are decently hard to find and dependent upon the lighting of the tank. If you make the tank a little more into the blue/actinic spectrum, you'll see more flourecent green.

ok cool!! Thanks for the welcome! Its very nice to have an honest place to go to!!!
well whaterver im doing with mister anemone ill keep it up! Hopfully it divides and i can trade in the clone for a discount on the rose colored BTA!!
