Green bubble algae

I don't have any right now, but when I do, I'll try an idea I saw in a thread a while back. Take a piece of rigid airline tube and cut it diagonally to sharpen one end. Attach it to some soft tubing and start a siphon and poke the bubble. The insides should siphon away.

That sounds like a good idea. I have some in my tank. I've had it since day one. Going on 8 months, mine at least, doesn't seam to be spreading. I've had a emerald crab in there from near the beginning He was the first thing I put in. I've never seen him eat anything. In fact I hardly see him at all. He just sits there hiding under his rock, never moves. Hmmm I wonder if hes dead wheres my stick :)

Seriously It doesn't bother me as long as it doen't start to take over. I do siphon out the loose ones but its just one more thing to look at in my tank. But then I like Aips too , till they tried to take over. Has anyone ever done a "pest" tank? Might be cool It would be a good reference if nothing else

This is the most replies I have ever gotten from a thread. I always owed it to not having a crazy expensive camera to shoot marco photos - so people would drool over them - but now I've learned the trick. Alcohol = popular thread.

I have a rock stack that I like very much and it hugs the walls of the tank so accessing all the areas is pretty impossible that's the main problem. I flicked a delicate sps yesterday and that is probably the end of trying to manually remove them. I think that a large acrylic tank maybe in order. I dislike not having open space in my tank. I think a dedicated bubble algae eater is an essential if I am going to continue to use this rock - and I'll factor in the size to accomodate a specific tang or whatever it is.

What I was really hoping is someone with experience with a black long nose or god forbid a gem tang had a positive experience to set my sights on for the next upgrade.

Foxfaces don't appear to be reliably reef safe, do they pick on LPS?

JMO but Sailfin Tangs are better looking than gemmatum or rostratus Tangs.
Heckofa lot cheaper, too ;)

Foxface is reliable algae eater in reef aquaria large enough for them. Not all Rabbitfishes are.
