I just bought a green carpet, and while he is doing ok with the water parameters, the clarkii's could care less about him. How do you get the clarkiis to get interested in him? Thanks in advance
It may take clarkii days, weeks, months or never to host it. You can never tell. Green Carpets, whether Hadonni or Mertin's are natural hosts for Clarkii but that is no guarantee that it will happen.
I have a bluish grey hadoni that just ate 2 clarkiis. I placed both clarkiis in the tank. The first night one was gone while the one that didn't pay much attention to the anemone lived an extra night.
I saw it hanging out around the hadoni before I went to bed and in the morning no clarkii was to be found... I searched everywhere and am pretty sure it was the hadoni that got them...
My hadoni is about 8-10 inches in diameter and these were small clarkiis,, maybe 1.5 inches.
I am wondering why the darn thing ate them.. and if i would have btter luck with some saddlebacks or anouther type clown.
Perhaps just larger ones?
Strange things absolutely do happen in this hobby. As far as fish size, I would go larger since the nem is so big. I don't know if you should change type of clown or not, your choice.
