green carpet help

Hi all,
Just received my haddoni carpet from liveaquaria, from order time til i received it was about 17 hrs. This is my first ever carpet and iam worried the way it looks. I know they dont ship well with everything i have read, but to me it looks bad. Any help would be appreciated, thx

Don't take a long time getting him into your tank (you are likely done this already)
Just get him in your tank on the sand. I often have high flow tank, so I scoop out sand and put him there. I also put a small long smooth piece of rock on top of him to keep him from get blow around the tank. A fairly large clam shell work great.
I watch him constantly until he dig in. If he does not close his mouth and dig in quickly, you are in for a rough time.

Like Orion said, get it into your system will the least amount of stress as possible ASAP!!! I dig a crater all the way to the glass, and put him so he feels something solid to grab. Sometimes if the foot is somewhat extended you can cover it with sand to help keep him down or the shell on top, or turn off or away the powerheads or return nozzle till he settles.

Make sure to keep an eye on him cause a loose carpet will blow all around your system which is devastating for the nem (I.e. PHeads) and other animals it may touch. If it refuses to settle in/plant its foot and keeps its internals, external, It is a very bad sign. I would take lots of Pictures to show the condition it arrived. Maybe if all doesnt go to well Live Aquaria can straighten it out. Maybe, Never hurts to try I guess... Good luck Ty

Thanks for the speed of answers, yes hes in my tank already. foot looks attached and everything is back inside, mouth is almost closed. Fingers crossed

Should I be getting excited?

He look good for new arrival. Don't get excited for a few days. Don't feed him until you are sure that he is well. We all want to start to feed them but don't.

24hrs in my tank now. Mouth is closed nice and tight, he opened up to about 12 inches. He has a lot of white around the edges, is this normal?

Don't party yet! He looks very good tho. After he is settle like a week feed small pieces of table shrimp or food of your choice. I personally cut raw table shrimp to 1/2-3/4 pieces and put a nice chunk of Robs food for vitamins, with an ounce or so of RODI or tank water. mix together till all evenly coated. Position the chunks flat not stacked so when you freeze you can easily break off a piece or two for feeding.
I do this for all 8 of my Nems and my Zebra Moray Eel.

The color looks very blue/teal! Good looking specimen. Keep an eye on him for the first few weeks. Looks good tho. Ty

Your white balance is way off, the color of the picture is not natural. I thing the white edge is the natural color of your anemone.

Sorry photo taken with a droid bionic and I also dont know how to take pics, lol! Its much more green than the pic shows, the white you really can not see but its on the very outer edge, all the way around, like two rows of tentacles
