What is you lighting schedule like? I cut my halides down to about 6 hours a day MAXIMUM, started running a heavy dose of GFO through a reactor and my problems started clearing up rather quickly. I jump started the new lighting schedule with a 5 day lights out period except for 1 hour of actinics for feeding time. I still have a few patches but nothing major. My algae was VERY dense.

Namyar sorry to hear your still battling. But don't give up or it will over take your tank.
For what its worth with my new tank I started seeing Algae appear then it came on rather quickly. I used all the suggestions that were given to you, Lawnmower Blenny, Tangs, and a GFO reactor along with manually pulling out the algae from the rocks and diligent weekly water changes. My tank came around very quickly. Heres hoping yours does as well. Good Luck..

was that a yes you have a foxface or no.... I had no herbivorous fish and only a few snails in my tank for like six months. old bulbs all this ==== Ton's of Algae!!!!!!!!!!!!!! within two days the powerhead which were formerly green and covered looked BRAND NEW. I am not kidding. Now, I have had algae that the foxface wouldn't eat before but they are an AWESOME fish anyway. I have ALWAYS had them. If you don't have one I would get one. They are a funny fish to acclimate and some based on individual personality will just hide turn zebra pattern and look dead others will be out and browsing in literally two hours. Watch them at the shop and get the least timid one.

My 29g tank was practically overgrown with green hair algae. I took about half of the rock out of my 29g tank (the pieces with the least amount of algae) and put it in my 90g tank. My Yellow Tang picked every piece clean, including cleaning the snails, many of which were also covered in it. If you can put a Yellow Tang in your tank, it might also be a good choice.
