I can't tell if its doing okay or not. I'm New to Anemones but been reading a lot of forums and random sites about them. This bugger was a spontaneous buy. Ever since i put it in my tank it seems to be doing okay bur i read having his mouth wide open isn't a good thing unless i was mistaken? (No video on the mouth couldn't get around the tank.) Anyways its been in my tank for six days now and looks pretty much as it looks in the video. No vomiting from the mouth or stuff on its foot just exactly what you see.

Here is what the description it had on the Driver's Den -
"
Green Long tentacle anemone. This anemone has a white striped, purple oral disc and white mouth. The tentacles of this anemone stick well and are a pinkish coloration with green tips. The underside of the oral disc is purple with tan spots. The column and pedal disc is reddish orange. This Long Tentacle Anemone prefers to a flat surface in deep sandy substrate 4" thick and is maintained under 250-Watt DE-20K Radium bulbs that are suspended 18" above the water surface in a raceway that is 16" deep. This anemone is fully quarantined since May, and is feeding well on a mix of PE Mysis and finely chopped raw shrimp. The diameter of the pedal disc is 1-1/2," and the anemone is 7-1/4" in diameter when fully open. Size 7-1/4""

Details on my tank its a 55 gallon reef (in the works) with 60+ pounds of live rock and between 5 to 11 inches of live sand. Filtration one Emperor 400 mostly for circulation and a Octopus LX2000S Protein Skimmer. Water parameters last i check were normal. Lighting its Two Aquatic Life Link T5s (one 36" 2x39watts and 48" 2x54watts). The LTA is about 11 inches from the light source"¦(measured from the surface of the sand to light) as i knew my light is likely not strong enough. I read if you prop it up closer to the light may help. It hasn't move from that spot it's kinda walled in by live rock but if it wanted to float it has that option.

Shrugs (and please excuse the glass being so dirty"¦i been lazy.)

First, need to know the actual numbers behind your "normal" for the parameters.

You say your tank is in the "work" how long has it been set up?

Did you try to bury its foot in the sand?

I'll get back to you on the actual numbers(, ran out of the test stuff. Will get new ones this weekend.) Likely its because of the water parameters last checks was a week ago. :::: hits hand :::: and oh...i added a bunch of fish to the tank from then to now. Before it had about a few small gobies, tiger pistol and 3 conchs. In the 55 gallon its been nearly a month, however, the contents were taken from many smaller tanks. I literally move the contents and shoved them in the 55. It was an upgrade from the 37 gallon. The 37 had been up for about 6 months. From 60+ pounds of live rock 35 pounds are from FOWLR and Mantis Shrimp systems i had them up for a few years along with most of the live sand. The other half of the live rock were purchased about 4-5 months ago and from the bulk of my live sand only 20 dry pounds is new. Oh and the skimmer was just added a week ago, still breaking it in. The Octopus LX2000S is strange, however, is nearly silent now but before it was loud. I don't know what i did. Ummm when i 1st got the LTA i actually did try to gently put it in the sand. I even had a part of a floor tile for it to grab hold of. Where the following day found it on it side laying on the sand. It has deflated from 7 inches to 5 inches but mostly stay on the 7 inch mark with its mouth wide open. Then i read a few posts from forums and read it was best not to handle it to much. To avoid any unnecessary stress and i read like 1% out anemone owners had success in keeping an anemone alive. :::: surprised face :::: Anyways i think i answered one factor to my question but would like to learn from anyone's experiences... advices... etc :)

Day 7 part 3; 11mins and 32sec (Link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rk5JcE3GyE) "Can you say 'wide load' :::: beep beep beep... ::::" (So interesting on watching it move...)

and i don't know if its mouth is still open or not. His bum is facing me currently but still seems to be on the move...i'l make another video if and when it turns around. (last two videos still processing...)

ok man to be honest it appears fine. The tips are inflated not droopy its moving quite well and looking at the video i dont see a gaping mouth. I'd say your fine make sure you keep up with your water changes and just keep an eye on it. Hopefully it will find its comfort zone and all will be good.
