Well yesterday i saw a wolf eel atthe store.

It looked great! i have done a lot of research on the animal before hand.

i wanted on for my 55 but at the time i found a ghost ribbon eel and bought him.

the wolf eel is green with many brown spots. Its about 8in long. I was surprised when it did not take frozen from the store employee. Disappointed at the time(keep this in mind). I decided to buy it and take it home.

I got him home in the QT with other fish. I let it get cozy for about 3 hours.

i fed the rest of the fish. the mysis went right by the eel and it did not flinch.

My gf came over and asked her what eel she wanted to feed(ghost ribbon or new wolf eel)

she picked the wolf eel. i fed the ghost eel and it ate a silverside on the first try.

she tried krill on the wolf eel. no dice. i told her to find a small silver side. she put the silveside in front of it and with no hesitation ate the silverside!

I WAS STOKED!!!

I will get some pics up tomorrow. i work all day today and im off tomorrow

thats amazing! i saw a green wolf eel at petco a month ago. shouldof grabbed it but i didnt have a tank for it. quick OT, did your ghost ribbon eel eat at the LFS or did you take the chance and buy him without seeing him eat?

took a chance. the gjost and blue ribbon eel are 2 different eels. i have read and heard ghost are slightly easier than blue and black ones.

the green wolf eel is way easier to ween than the ribbons.

wolf eel is very curious about people. it was watching me play test drive unlimited 2 all night. he comes out when im near the tank and i havent even had it 24 hours yet.

it seams like it is a really good swimmer.

Do you have a lid over this guy or are they less likely to escape? Should you lid any eel tank?

ALWAYS lid an eel tank! The are very string and can find a way out. I have a tight lexan over the wolf eel right now. Wolf eels are just al likely as any other eel from what I've read
