GROUP BUY - Reef Radiance

For the DM-132e,

Can you tell the Kelvin for each? You gave a spectrum on the site which ranges, but curious to know..

Blue-18- White-16 Red-3 Green-2 Yellow-1 Violet-4

Thank you in advance

Hi Jgoal55,

I sell the DM-120 as well. It is a generic Chinese LED - not bad. The DM-132e is my exclusive design and is smaller and I think as do my customers much better looking. It has 44 3 Watt LEDS not 55. It has dual dimmers and Channel one allows for just blue colors so when you are using a timer the tank wakes up to just blue/violet and then the whites and colors come on and the reverse is the case at sunset. I am now selling the 5th generation of this light and the LEDs spectrum I think is perfect for coral growth and yet looks good when we look at the tank. And now it is $50 less than the DM0120. If you are looking for a very high quality light at below what I sell to wholesalers - then buy as many of these as you can. Really. Rick

Thanks Rick....all very good to know. Will be buying 2x tomorrow for sure!

Just to make sure, I have a standard 4ft 90g with a canopy so I can only mount these about 8" above the water line. 2 of these with 90 degree optics should be fine right?

Also, do the lights have any cooling fans built in? Can't tell from the pics.

which lights are you referring to ?

2 of the DM132e should do a fine job over a 90g tank, 8" should be fine with the depth of the 90g, you may have to turn the intensity down a little but should work out great.....

all the LEDs that Rick sells have cooling fans except the PAR38 bulbs

I don't know the exact Kelvin but to look at the light in the tank,I would guess it to be between 12000k to 14000k with both channels set at equal percentages, back the white channel down and get closer to 20,000k

Great, thanks!

Yeah, definitely planning on turning intensity down and then raising little by little to acclimate.

I don't know anything about the d120 but the DM132e are excellent lights, I have 2 of them over my 360g tank,I need 2 more but here's some comparison pics of the DM132e next to my 14k 250w Phoenix halides....

keep in mind, the Phoenix bulbs are in Lumen Bright pendants with Lumatek ballasts....high quality, expensive equipment Vs. very affordable LEDs that use less than half the power and cost less than my halide system....

I paid almost as much for each LB pendant as a DM132e costs, that's not counting the ballasts and bulbs

notice how much more natural and colorful the LED lit side looks compared to the very blue halide side

these have separate power cords for each of the blue and white channels for easily simulating a dusk/dawn effect like you would with any other aquarium light with an aquarium controller or a pair of timers to turn each channel on/off at specific times....

the LEDs don't ramp up/down like with some of the more expensive LED systems but these do have separate dimmer knobs to set the max/min of each channel....

the "e" in the name means "enhanced" that is for the full spectrum colors added, the extra color LEDs are divided between the blue and white channels to create an evenly spread light, they also include 90 degree optics for really good penetration....

I looked at all the DIY LED sites trying to come up with a reasonably priced alternative to my halides, all of them were more expensive than the DM132e and there's no way I could build a fixture that looks even half as good as these...

these are by far the best money I ever spent on any piece of reefing equipment, these will pay for themselves within a few months in what they are saving me in power consumption, and no more bulb replacement :)

Thanks for these comparison shots btw....very cool.

Just ordered my two DM132e's from Rick. Great guy and great service! Very excited about these lights!

my pleasure....

I love these lights and am really impressed with the intensity and color, but the fact that these 2 lights use less power than 1 of my halides and produce almost no heat, I was astounded....knowing that I will no longer have to replace bulbs every 6 to 12 months is also welcome bonus :)

not only do these preform exceptionally well, but to me, they look much better than my halide pendants and take up very little space above my tank, making it much easier to clean the glass and get to things in my tank if I need to...

awesome, I think you're gonna love these over your tank

Rick I was just wandering if you have anything along the lines of powerheads?

specifically do you carry the Jebao brand pumps?

Rick i never recieved any pics but went ahead and pulled the trigger on 1 DM132E based on what you said for my 40B. i hope it works out. Will the 90 degree optics be alright and not create a spotlight effect in the middle of the tank? only thing im worried about. and can the 90's be swapped for 120degree optics on my order? what do you think
