Well, as you know, I have four in my 265. They grow pretty fast. Not sure I could manage many more. Would like to add a couple of Zosters, just haven't found any in a while.
I had 3 in a 420 years back. Great fish. I'd say as long as you have a large enough display you would be ok.
Nothing magical about odd numbers. Pyramids and Zosters get along fine given social acclimation (and initial quarantine, of course) in long tanks.
No problem in a display that large! Will be awesome additions! Would love to see a group in a tank that large! Will need pics in the future!

I would really enjoy a pair of yellow pyramid butterfly fish for my 90, but I worry that they might outgrow my tank, opinions?
They will out grow the 90g even if they were the only two fish in it. My two are the size of large grapefruits/small cantaloupes. Plus they are very active swimmers. 6ft tank is a must at bare minimum
Are their any reef safe butterflyfish that would be compatible with my tank?
(sorry for hijacking your thread)
I received 3 pyramids today from of all places Petco.com. Communication wasn't great, packaging was only fair but they arrived before 9AM and dang, they look healthy. All 3 have already eaten mysis with vigor. Long way to go but my previous pyramids never looked this good at this point.
My only beef was they were supposed to be "small" 2 to 2.5 inches and they are a little over 3". My desire for smaller specimens was my only reason for taking a chance on this place. Still not sorry I did though, no matter what happens from here.
