Groups of pyramid butterflies

the trick is getting someone to pack the fish that has a clue what they are doing.

Yep, the box was ok but there was only one cool pack and one of the bags was leaking. It had half as much water as the other two. Despite that the fish looked good. One of them has a little bit of a frayed tail. Otherwise they look pristine.

When I got the two I have the same thing happened to me, the bag was half empty and the fish was laying on its side. Despite all that he made a full recovery and is and has been doing great.

Hopefully mine will too. All three ate yesterday and are out and about this morning. One is shaking his head a little so I may treat with Prazipro on the next tank transfer.

General wisdom is that these fish often come with flukes - entirely free of charge! Must say that none of mine did, though maybe just lucky.

Thanks ca1ore. So far so good. I truly believe they would eat as long as I put food in. Half way through tank transfer!

So there is some? I've heard another account of them just tolerating each other....

Before my smallest one was lost during the QT ammonia spike he would get chased occasionally and other times they were everywhere together and that was with three. I'm wishing the 625g was up and running so I could get a group of 7 more to go thru QT, really would like to see a group of 9 or so. If it isn't a angel, tang or butterfly it doesn't even cross my mind anymore...:deadhorse1:

Other than just the occasional chase around the tank, no real aggression to speak of. But, I have a good sized tank and a pretty high fish population so perhaps that distracts them a bit.

My 3 have completed tank transfer and two rounds of Prazipro. In cycled observation tank with my new white tail tang for a couple more weeks.

I bought a 3" pyramid 2 months ago; he just made it to DT 2 wks ago. It began eating very good on day 1 and did great throughout 6 wk QT. I like him so much I ordered a zoster from LA this week. The zoster is quite large, probably 4.5". I also snagged a Heniochus diphreutes from LA. It was the first time I've ever seen one available; I've always wanted one! Both the zoster and the Heniochus diphreutes are eating very like pigs. I can't wait to see them all together in my DT. here is the only pic I have for now, will try to post more tomorrow.

PIA has Heniochus all the time. I think Kevin has 3 in now.

Zosters are awesome. Once they settle in, the dark color gets really dark, and makes the white, and the little patch of yellow on the dorsal fin, really pop! I had one in my reef, but had to remove it because it ate gorgonians :( Fast fish... really tough to get pics of!

Peter thanks for sharing. I figured the lack of coloring was just because he is scared. it was his first day in QT. Is that your old tank or a current tank?

Awesome Zoster! Let us know how he acclimates takes to his new tank mates

Interesting about gorgonians. I was thinking about getting a couple of zosters, but may reconsider because I have a lot of gorgs.

It could have just been an individual fish thing too... I've only ever had the one.
