Growth rates?

I have a BC14 and love the look of clams, however I read that they can grow quite large. I have also read that the stock lighting on the biocube 14 isn't enough so I'd have to upgrade to the 3x24 nanocustoms kit from 2x24.

How fast do clams grow? I'd ideally start out with a small 1.5-2" one.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't looking at maximum size but typical growth rates. ie, if I get a 2" _____, I can expect it reaching 4" in 1 year etc.

Baby Tridacna maxima: from 3/4" to 1 1/2" (~1.5cm to 3.2 cm) in 3 months, PC light + sun, nano-tank.

I have had a 6" or so T gigas for about two months and noticed almost a 1/4" of new shell growth. It is under 250w 10K MH with calcium at 400ppm.
