I have had a pair of gold striped maroon clowns for 4+ years. These two fish never left each others sides at all. They ate together and swam throughout the tank together. Suddenly, two weeks ago, I noticed the female was the only one in the tank and assumed the male had died. a few days later, I spotted the male swimming at the bottom back of the tank near a cave opening by himself. He sort of hovers over the opening when he is out. When I first saw him, I thought he might have been sick but he seems very frisky when otherr fish gets close. I never see the female and the male together at all now. Any thoughts?
