I am more comfortable with salifert results over API. If salifert is showing 0 then yes its time to add on a tang.
Good luck and keep me posted..... any plans for preventive treatment for ich after prazi?
Wish me luck, my QT is the home now of a beautiful powder brown. Ammonia is zero but I added a dose of Prime for the nitrite just to be safe. In a couple of days will start Prazi-pro
if there is no ammonia then u should be good for now as long as u dont break the cycle somehow. keep prazi in there for 7 days. if for any reason ammonia show up u do water change and redose prazi in same ratio.
say u had ammonia and changes 30% water then dose 30% of the original amount of prazipro back in.
but i very seriously doubt u u will run into ammonia issue any more.
Another easy ammonia removal trick is to tie a rough screen to an airstone so the bubbles go up the screen, and set it in the tank next to the glass, and shine a 3 watt CFL bulb through the glass on it.
The screen will grow algae, and the favorite food of algae is ammonia.
