gws76's- 150 gal. Build

Here's a few other pics I took this morning while moving corals around. Just wanted to take some pics of a few chalice colonies for size reference. They're under actinics, so a little dim. I'm really happy with the growth on these chalice since they were started with single eye frags. :fun4:

Very nice, how many total gallons do you have now?

It has to be somewhere around 300 gallons with the addition. I may add a bigger frag tank further down the road, but I'll have to upgrade my skimmer before that happens.

Just updating pics today.

Full tank shot.

Just working on some photo issue's. Trying to sharpen them up and get them closer to true color.

Smart move to put that huge Monti low so it won't shade everything else in the tank....Obviously it's still getting enough light...

Stunning tank, Glen.

The big orange monster low on the right island...

Great specimens...

Hmmm, appears maroon/purple on my screen. Wife says I'm color blind, probably so. That's the purple haze monti. It has never grown upwards in my tank, always plates out and downward. Weird monti. I'm thinking about fragging it out of my tank and replacing it with a neon yellow toadstool that's behind that rock structure.

You're right - I took off my NightSea goggles and it does look like what aquarists call purple... :spin2:

Still purty...

Stunning bro, its a great picture, its difficult to get the photos to show what the tank looks like in person, your doing a great job.

Thanks. Figured it was about time. They've been laying in the garage for the last 7 months. The wife was getting fed up with the kids hiding under there. There was plenty of room under there since the only thing under there is the dart that runs the closed loop and halide ballasts.

What took so long was deciding on how to finish the center panels on them. Sand them down and stain them, paint the centers, or cover them with copper sheeting? Well, decided to go with the black paint. I really wanted to go with blue and white semi transparent glass (some kind of stained glass) rather than the wood panels in the centers. Then back light them. Maybe next time.
