H. Magnifica just arrives from reefhotspot.com

i am with Minh,

that anemone look like it is still alot of life to it, maybe dividing. my rose look so messed up like that too when i injured it but the tentacles look like yours and i just suck away all the dead tissues with a hose to prevent infection and it recovered and i have 2 roses.

the 3rd pics tells me it's not dead yet man. just suck away the dead tissues to help it rid of the infection. dont throw away. i have seen this in roses BTA so dont assume it's dead. the base and the tentacles tell me it's still alive.

I just received mine today, it looked very much like yours when i opened the bag. I got it acclimated and now its in the tank (still has a wide open mouth though). Hope your refugium has the light to support the anemone. Mine reacted very positively once i turned back on the lights, it started filling back up with water and the mouth seems to be slowly closing. Good luck with your anemone, perhaps you will get two for the price of one?

Yes, before I put it in my refugium. My refugium have a good t8, but It does not get so much flow then I changed my minds and I cleaned it very well , I put back in the same place where it was originally in my tank. I turn off the flow during 1 hour, and I think it is attached again, and look even better!!

Two mouths? Pics? When they divide a hole forms from the mouth to the base--you can see the liverock upon which they are resting right through their mouth, then the base pulls apart in opposite directions, similar to a BTA splitting.

I wish you the best with your purple based mags. In the last pics you took, it's looking a little better. I'm glad you didn't discard it yet. Just keep a close eye and take it out if it starts to disintegrate, as the supplier said.

I have two purple based mags now that were originally one (split a little over 3 years ago). Once they're established, they seem quite hardy

Keep us posted with updates and pics.

It it does not smell bad, I would not remove it from the tank.

I agree with Minh. Nothing on this planet smells as bad as a dead anemone. There can be no mistaking it.

When you try to give the anemone water flow, do not point the flow right at it (in the mouth or at the base). Try to place the flow horizontally across the top of the anemone, so that if it pulls back, it is out of the flow, but if it expands it is in the flow (if that makes sense).

good luck and is it any good dealing from that vendor? i have been looking at his page and hes got some really nice pieces. any tips would be nice. thanks
