H. Magnifica Picture/Video Showoff Thread!

Any recommendations for places to look for one of these anemones online? (didn't think that was worth a new thread) Seems like you guys are the ones to ask.

I think I'm ready to try one.

Hi,
I bought one recently , I had asked for the smallest of the 3 that they had. It was about 9" across.
It grew at least 4" in the last week [emoji15]!!! I'm freaking out!

ginpang,

Magnifica need a lot more light and a lot more water movement than in the video you posted. He did not growth 4 inches last week, he just settle in your tank and more expanded then when he was first arrived. The total mass of the anemone is the same, or even a little less.

If you keep that Magnifica as it is in the video, he will start walking to look for more light and current and will cause you a lot of grief. I recommended that you give him the light and current he needs or else let some one else have him. He seem to be healthy, but not for long if you keep him in the condition showed in that video.

Best of luck

@ Orion Thanks for the tip!
I had stopped the water flow to try and take a picture with the iPad which didn't work because I have no control over shutter speed ... And clownfish photo bombed it. So I went with a really bad quality video ( without the blues ) .
As for the placement , I had put her up near the lights and she decided to go down... Has not moved in two weeks.
I guess we'll see. [emoji57]

Also my living room has two skylights that shine in the aquarium for about 4 hours a day that might' ve added to the video's funky Colour.

Antonio, you've fragged your H.magnifica's in the past, havent you?

Here is a link to the live stream of my 180g Clownfish harem & H. Mag. The 'nem is on a pedestal rock, and has been very happy. I did treat it w/ cipro when i first got it, and it was obviously successful. Would love feedback on the flow.

Snowdawg,
Flow looks a little on the low side, but if the anemone hasnt moved, it's fine.

The H.magnifica's you've fragged in the past....had they already split in your system once before previously, or did you just frag them?

I have a large purple based green tentacled/green oral disc, purple tipped H.magnifica that I would like to frag for various reasons, but have never fragged one before.
