H. Magnifica primer?

Hi, is there a guide on keeping H. Magnificas?. I bought one long time ago, it never ate even if I put food in its mouth it wouldn´t eat. I tried feeding it with raw shrimp chunks, just like my RBTA, but it would spit them out. Slowly defleated so much it could no longer stand and it started to melt one day.

It was dissapointing. I was using T5s back then.

I currently have a much better setup, its a 170 gal with 3x250 watt HQI+2x80watt T5, a Vortech and a lot of good flow.

How do you keep them alive and healthy?, what do you feed?, how do you entice them to eat?, its 250 watt enough?, how messy are they?, My RBTA never moves, which is really cool.

Will they eat fish?, I have 2 ocellaris, 1 blue tang, 1 sailfin tang, 1 mystery wrasse.

My tank is full of SPS and I don´t want them to get damaged, I have a rock right in the middle of a 20 000k 250 watt bulb, this rock is about 8" wide and its separated from corals 8" on each side, If I would sit the H. Magnifica on that rock, it would give it a 24" area to expand without damaging nearby corals.

They prefer sg 1.026-1.027, temp 80-82F, regular feeding of squid, shrimp, mysis, silversides, etc., good water flow, to perch atop a flat piece of rock like you described where they won't come into contact with corals, and yes your lighting should be fine, assuming the anemone isn't too far from the light. Also yes to the possibility of eating fish. Your ocellaris should take to the anemone quickly.

Very low long term survival rates for H Mag. Everyone is entranced by the beautiful pictures but they are very hard to get acclimated and very easy to kill. Your first experience is very typical IMHO. There are exceptions of course.
