If your are at ~15, than you are producing max, you will not see an increase. You are not doing anything wrong. In your situation you do not need to dial the intake air down if your guage is already reading at 15. If you could please m-mail me a picture of your set-up.

I think I figured it out. I had the pump connected to the skimmer w/the connector, which may have created some type of back-pressure. I have connected the pump directly to the skimmer, and now the numbers go up when I pinch down on the tube. Right now I'm at 15 lph.

How good is the H &S F-2000, I bought an asm G-1 for my tank. And its okay but I always wanted to buy one of those german skimmers like a H&S.How much better is the F-2000 and is it as good as a Deltec AP600? Just curious? Is it worth switching to a H&S F-2000 for a 55 gal or will my ASM G-1 be fine.

I'll bet your ASM is just fine. If the ASM works for you and you get good skimmate, keep it. As far as who's better - Deltec or H&S - I'm sure there's not a big diff - if any. But there IS a big price difference.

it depends if you're willing to drop the cash or not. I had a g1x on my 55g and it seemed to work fine. but now i have an A110 and the skimmate it produces is much better, the skimmer is built much better (like a rock), and is much more adjustable.
I had no complaints with the g1x, for $225 it was a good deal, but you get what you pay for. The h&s skimmers are in a completely different class.

Thanks Flinger and scarlet, I am defintely going to save and get a F-2000. Might take a few weeks since money doesn't grow on tree's. You think this F-2000 will handle the 55gal with no problem? I wish I can see some pics with this thing running and some skimate.

Here is an A110 on the 125 I have at my shop.
Sorry don't have any of the internal 110 Pictures at this moment.

Air tubing is ozone safe, but it will have to be replaced after a while. I am not a big fan of ozone, but I would not run more that 50mg/hr thru the skimmer pump. The correct way is to put a tee into the air intake, the straight part needs to be open, the 90 needs to be connected to the ozone machine, with a small airpump pushing it. Otherwise, it will hender the air intake of the skimmer. Personally I would only run Ozone at ~ 10 mg just to clear the water.

Scarlet,

You'll love a controller controlling everything...I have a Neptune and have never had issues w/ X10 modules. BTW, how the skimmer? I purchased the 150 from Brian and love it, I'll post some nasty skimmate in less than a week.

Yeah, I'm just waiting until I can afford a controller, got some other experiences right now. I actually got an AC jr from the group buy and I love it. I coudlnt afford the AC II at the time. The skimmer is awesome can't wait to get it running on my new tank.

How does the collection cup on an H&S connect to the skimmer body? It looks like a bayonet style connector. . .Also, how much clearance above the skimmer is required to remove the collection cup?

I currently have a ER CS8-1 with the union fitting and it's really a pain to a) tighten properly and b) loosen when it's time to clean the collection cup.

:D

I use 30mg of ozone and it works just great like Fin said keeps the water nice n clear.

catastrofe I think 1" is enough to remove the cup and it is a bayonete coupling, but very easy to take use, never had an issue.

After relatively poor skimate production of my 110 - F2000, I bought the LPH gauge. Registers 0 no matter what I do? The gauge does however work (the little indicate ball will move if I suck on the top hole on the gauge). Any advice would be great. Thanks!! Steve.

I was having similar issues w/the LPH gauge. Do you habve your pump connected directly to the skimmer body? See my post above.

Brian -- How many gph do you recommend flowing through the A300 ext? I have it set up do be gravity fed by a 1.5inch drain on my overflow.

Thanks in advance!

John
