Half Black Dwaf Angel

I added one to my 29g reef. So far, so-so. She's very active and constantly grazing. Grazing on the rock, grazing on the powerheads, grazing on the glass, grazing from the sand, grazing on the sinularia. Grazing. Grazing. Grazing.

I feed a pretty varied diet. Including frozen mysis, plankton, Formula One, and Pygmy Angel Formula. I keep a small strip of the dried seaweed/algea (nori) stuff but she just doesn't seem intersted in it. I've upped my feeding from 3-4/wk to everyday just because she seems like such a pig. Now I'm having a small brown algae issue.

Do you think she'd eat macro? If so, what kind? I also read somewhere to soak the dried nori stuff in garlic? Is it a garlic oil from the supermarket? Is there some sort of pellet food that would settle on the rocks that she could find?

I'm hesitant to add any corals until I get her a solid diet. She's a great fish. Isn't aggressive. Great colors. She's all over the place. Plays hide and seek with my cat.

Hmm, I'd keep the seaweed clip going, in case the fish ever learns to like the stuff. Seaweed Selects and Sea Veggies are good choice to combine with nori. Garlic might help. My angel nibbled on a wide variety of macroalgae. Your current choices sound like an excellent diet to me, really.

How much are you feeding? Feeding daily is fine if the quantity doesn't overload the filtration capacity. Fish can eat basically until they explode, IMO.

I've only got this angel and now very fat percula clown and a skunk cleaner shrimp in the tank. I'm using a CPR BakPak protein skimmer and have about 40 lbs of LR.

I was only feeding the clown every other day. But I've increased to every day sometimes twice to keep this angel happy. I'll usually feed about 1/4 a cube of two types of food each day.

Is it some sort of garlic oil or what? Can I make it easily or can I buy at the supermarket.

Bertoni, you answered so many questions for me last year when I first started this tank and I'm so happy to see you're now a Mod.

Thanks for you time and any suggestions.

She just nipped my Galaxia. I'm thinking I may have to evict this beautiful little fish soon.

You're welcome!

The dwarf angels often seem to nip at corals.

Hmm, if it's like a 1/4 cube of frozen Formula 1 plus another similar amount, that's a lot for a 29g tank filtration. Do you have a refugium? If so, growing and harvesting a macroalga might help a lot.
