Halichoeres... show some love

Thought this thread was due a bump so

Cosmetus maturing nicely one from a few months ago and then two from last week.

On a different note does anyone know the reason why they get the broken barring on their back as they mature?

and here are a couple of other tank mates in with the H cosmetus. Their are two white bellied and the H chrysus which i think has had a major back injury before i got it. It makes it look like a bit of a pig but there is definitely a bent spine as you may be able to see in the pictures. It doesn't seem to effect it in any way but just thought it was interesting.

It won't be green for long. Once it becomes an adult all you have is a big grey greenish fish. Mine got to 9" before I sold him.

Like this one but bigger.

This might be true for you, but the one I have is huge and bright green with awesome pink markings. Unbelievable color. One of my favorite fishes. Its probably pushing a solid 9 inches or so.

Awesome thread and due a bump. I have a Halichoeres chrysus and biocellatus on the way. Should be here tomorrow. So excited as wrasses are my favorite with so many colorful and beautiful specimens. They'll be going into my 60 cube after QT. Hope to follow them up with another wrasse or 3 but not halichoeres'.

Would love to see some more pics!

I'm going to be adding sand to my display for the first time in a long time....
Additionally, I will be trying a small Halichoeres wrasse for the first time.
Tank is a 120 gallon, (48x24x24) with minimal rockwork.

I'm bouncing between the H.malanurus, (most likely) and the H.claudia.

Which do you guys suggest for a first time wrasse keeper?
