Hey,
Has anyone done this? I would love to keep crocea clams in my tank, and know that the pc lighting just wont cut it. Another question, could a deresa live under the pc lighting? If you have any full tank shots of metal halide lighted tanks I would really appreciate seeing them.

For a 12 gal Nano a 70w HQI would be good. Some go higher and get the 150w HQI

Check www.nanotuners.com

They sell HOB Halide lighting.

Only Draw back is you have to remove the top. I kinda like our top!.. Less obtrusive. How many watts are you currently using?

We have 54w above our 12 gal

Hey,
I have 48 Watts at the moment over the tank, and at my LFS i have seen beautiful SPS corals thriving under this lighting.

im installing a 150 HQI on my 10gal. pics of current tank in gallery. will update with new lights when im done.

How long has that tank been set up. Is it the same coral thriving everything you go there?

I wouldn't bet on it, i would like to see how their SPS looks in 6 months. It might survive, but there is no way it could thrive, it's going to loose all the prety colors and turn a brownish color and probally survive, but for how long is anyones guess.
