anyone ever see problems with metal halides and carpet anemones ?? i added halides and with in 2 days my green carpet started shrinking and stopped eating ,,, so i turned them off for a few days and he puffed up again , turned them on today same thing so... now thier off again ,, bummer ,,, im really hoping hes okay,,, but was wondering if anyone else ever had it happen ,,,,,

You should really acclimate him to the new lights that you have. Try to run them for two hours the first day, 2 and a half the second day, 3 hours the third day and so on. Good luck.

well i had them on for 4 the first then thought better and turned them to 2 hours , but now thier off ,, thought id wait a few days to see if he recoups then start with and hour at a time

Explain what you were running light wise, and what you went to. I will assume by your signature you WERE running only VHO's, and now are running VHO's and MH. That's a HUUUUGE jump in light from one of the weakest setups to adding one of the strongest. A very very slow acclimation will be required, at least a week if not longer. Start your MH 16" above the tank, and slowly lower them. You can also use screen material over the tank, but that will block out some of your VHO as well obviously.

Again, I'm assuming what you might have been running and what you might be running since no details were supplied.

Great advice there. You don't want to overwhelm your carpet because it will die. When I upgraded my PCs to T5s, I had two corals that died on me just because of the big jump I made with no acclimation. I was to lazy. Don't do what I did. Good luck and keep us updated.
