So I inherited this skimmer from a friend who won it in a SEASL raffle. No idea of the brand, and I'd like to figure out how much work/money it's going to take to fix this bad boy.

The first 2 pics should suffice I think, thanks to anyone who can help me ID, and bless your heart if you can find a model # !

Thanks as always,

Chris

It's a EuroReef skimmer. List the dimensions of the body diameter and overall height, and we'll try to figure out the model number. From there, it should be easy to figure out how much it will cost to get it up and running again.

On second thought... Remove the cup and look at where the union meets the tube on the cup. See if the model number is engraved/etched/scratched into it.

euro reef looks like a rs-80 or an es5-2

if a 4 inch tube it is one of those you need a sedra 3500 to run it

Naw, all that SPEARS nonsense is just the actual union. Try looking here:

Nothin'. Found a manual for RS's and ES's but still not sure on which kind.

height (with cup attached) : 20"
base has a footprint of 7.25"x7.25"
diameter of skimmer chamber at widest: about 5.5"
attached riser pipe/outlet pipe/whatever it is is 1.5" diameter.

my skimmer experience = FAIL

Do they really just scratch the model number onto the cup like in your photo? You'd think with the amount of money they charge for skimmers, they could invest in a simple printing/engraving machine rather than hiring some guy with a butter knife :)

The gate valve makes it easier to adjust. Doesn't really increase performance, but does make it much easier to use.
