Harlequin Shrimp

Lately I have been picking out little stars that are eating my coral. I may have to get a harlequin shrimp to wipe out all the little .. umm ... (trying to think of a nicer term for them) ........... stars!

I do not wish to keep a harlequin for a long period but only long enough to eradicate the stars. Will anyone be buying one of these in the future that I could use them sell to them? I haven't seen a lease program on these. ;)

why not keep it? i had one in my 90 for 2 years. he took care of the asternias and was a model citizen

My wife likes the stars, so I don't think she would like buying stars to feed them.

I will be more than glad to donate some asterina's for your harlequin.

I have would gladly save you some and give you at each club meeting. You can go ahead and get your harlequin now, and then when you come down for the meeting in June I can gie you a batch!! That really sounds like a good deal to me.

It's hard to imagine how fast these guys go thru asterinas. In my opinion it would be very difficult to get enough asterinas to sustain them long term. So at some point you would almost definitely have to add larger starfish.

i never had to, he always kept a few around to eat later. i never had to add any starfish to feed him.

Would there be any problems putting a harlequin in a tank with a randall pistol, yasha, skunk cleaner, and porcelain crab?
