Harlequin Tusk Show off

They are magnificent fish! I would like to have one sometime in the future- along with an upgrade first. But am wondering- do they attack clams?

They don't bother my Tridacnid clams but love steamer clams. I have always keep them in my large tank. This is my second Tusk. I had the last one my my 450 gal tank until I break it down. Up to about 8-9 inches.

They are built to eat inverts. So it's entirely possible for them to find interest in clams. Mine initially only ate clams, but then was intimidated by the angel, whose fav food is clams as well. Now he won't even look at them.

Mine doesn't eat clams. Have 3 in my tank. I have also been lucky as far as my cleaner shrimp. I can't say for sure if he killed and ate all my smaller snails and crabs. Cause every time I turn around I still see a bunch of them roaming around my tank. I love at night when my tusk goes hunting. He keeps himself still pointing at the sand waiting for something to pop out. Then he will see something on the other side of the tank and jet over there looking. Then return to the spot he was at first for hunting. Every night he finds another spot to stalk out

Not the greatest quality pic, but this the best one I have (so far) of my Aussie. I've had him for about 2 years now and as you can probably guess by his girth, he eats very well (is especially fond of NLS pellets). Definitely one of my favorite fish! I'll try to get some better pictures with a non cell-phone camera soon.
