Has anybody tested the TDS of rain water?

Ok, this one is far out there I'll admit. I'm not suggesting using rain water for anything but I was just curious. Shouldn't it be almost like a version of distilled? Once I get my meter I'll test some around here. I'm sure it picks up a lot of pollutants in the air on the way down. One time I left a cup outside in a down pour here and drank a little of it to see what it was like. Lets just say I hope I never have to survive on it. It kind of dried my mouth out and had a bitter, rubbery taste. I'll probably never do it again unless I had to. lol

You would think water forming from the sky and falling to the ground would naturally be "pure". However, think about this: to make snow you need h2o, cold and DIRT for the water to form around...

Years ago rainwater was pure. And if I were stuck at sea I would collect and drink it. But rain cleans the air and there are chemicals and dirt it takes out. i.e. acid rain. I wouldn't even drink it anymore, unless as mentioned I was stuck at sea.

Digging waaay back to high school science--"hygroscopic nuclei", the term given to the "dirt" particles required for rain to form in the clouds.
