Has anyone painted the back of a tank?

An acrylic tank that is. If so, what did you use?

I do it all the time with Color Place Black Interior/exterior fast dry and with Rust-Oleum specialty Frosted Glass semi-transparent finish paint.

krylon fusion maybe? it's supposed to stick to plastics.

I have used the krylon fusion, and it is the best paint for acrylic. I would recommend it to anyone.

krylon fusion is awesome. That's what we painted the 90 stand with. Wal-Mart sells it pretty cheap.

Why don't you use Limo window tint film ? fast , and easy to install , and no problem to remove . Ted

I don't think he wants to see though it or have a mirrored finish, and paint is very easy to remove.

I suck at that tinting stuff. I tried it on my house windows and got bubbles everywhere. Ill just paint it since the tank is already masked.

paint is easy to remove from acrylic?????????????? how, I have some splatter to remove from mine and I can't figure out an easy way without scratching the acrylic

You are right Chris, I keep forgetting that Acrylic is harder to clean than glass. All of my painted tanks have been glass and easy to scrape off.

Russ, it took about 5 coats of paint to cover my 33 cube and about the same to cover Tracy's 36 bow.

Chris, have you tried rubbing alcohol? I would definately test it on a piece of scrap or in a spot that isn't seen, as I do not know for sure if it will damage the acrylic, but that is what I had to use to get paint splatter off of my truck.

Russ what color did you paint your tank? I thought you were going to keep it clear on the back?
