Has anyone used Kick Ich or food medicated with medronidazole in a tank dominated with small polyped scleractinians? I have a dartfish with a bad case of Ich. I have not known this species of fish to be prone to ich, but this guy has a bad case of it. I would give him a fresh water dip, but when try to catch him he will just jet back into his borrow. Any suggestions?

i am using it now myself, i am on my second dosage and havent noticed any ill effects to corals or inverts, tank is mainly sps, do have nems as well and lps, have a thread about it on a local forum while i am using to see what the over all effect is

Some people say it works, most say it doesn't. In the cases that people say it works its usually just that the parasite went away on its own. I never treat ich and it always takes care of itself.

I've used food medicated with medronidazole. I saw no ill affects to the coral, but my fish didn't care for it too much.. As for kick ich... Tried that too and did not work.. Since I don't have a QT, my best purchase to "help" with ich and other nasties that can occur in my tank was an Ozonizer by Ozotech.. I'm not saying that it cures ich, but I have not lost a single fish to ich since adding it to my tank.. So for me, ozone has lead to healthier fish & super clear water with no ill affect to coral.

I've used Kick-Ich with no ill effects on my SPS (or LPS or softies). But, I am 90% sure the stuff doesn't work.

one of the misconceptions people have with it is, it doesnt cure ich, and doesnt state it does, it does kill the free floating ich, which i do guess if used over a period of time would almost cure the ich, will say this most of my fish had 20 or more spots, next day after dosing the fish had none, 2 days later they all had 3 or 4 spots which i figured, i am going to run the full 2 weeks of dosage and go from there

I don't know if it works but I used it and the ich went away. Possibly could have been I was soaking their food in garlic guard at the same time. Oh and I use a full bottle with no I'll effects to my sps.

Don't wast your money. I've used it and no ill effects to any lps or sps. And The ick didn't go away. So I started to feed my fish Fresh garlic and ick was gone in two week. Still feed it to them once month.

used it back when i had a smaller setup (40 gallon). Not sure if it worked for the ick or my fish just recovered by themselves, however my skimmer went nuts.

ICH just doesn't "go away".........you can keep your fishes immune system up, keep 'em heathy, and you are ok.

I used Kick Ich 5 years ago, dosed 2 X's accelerated per owners instructions............never seen it since no matter what the condition or stress level was of the inhabiants............
