Hatching Brine Shrimp

I was wondering if anyone hatches their own shrimp. I have read that you need to keep the water at 80 degrees

I have been looking at hatching kits, but thinking about DYI.

I did purschase some live brine to see how my would it and thye went nuts

Can you please give me any advise.

we use a 2 liter soda bottle and a compact florescent house bulb just use an air stone or some rigid tubing in the bottle run the sq on the low side 1/2tsp eggs for a heavy batch they should hatch in 24- 36 hours..they don't have much nutritional value after being hatched for 24 hours. we run 2 bottles so we have fresh every day.

I hatched many thousands during the time I was breeding cardinalfish. My method was simple... I used 16 oz plastic cups, 3/4 filled with tank water and about 1/4 teaspoon of brine shrimp eggs. I place the cup on a shelf that was in my sump. I did not use any lights.

Within a few days, you'll had tons of BBS. The hard part is raising them to a decent size. This was not a concern for me as I needed to feed the baby cardinalfish lots of baby brine shrimp.

I have never tried but if I wanted where would be the best place to get a DIY kit.

I have 2's also

do fish and coral eat them.

I did use the upside-down 2-liter bottle method (using the commercially available stand). You can make more BBS per batch but I needed a constant supply, not a huge batch at once.

I got mine kits at Marine Oasis.
